OPSC SYLLABUSÂ
1. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
The Prelims consist of two papers of 200 marks each. It serves as a screening test, and marks are not counted for the final merit list. Â
​2. Main Examination (Descriptive Type)
​The Mains exam comprises 9 papers. The first two are qualifying, and the remaining 7 determine your merit.
Part I: Qualifying Papers (Minimum 25% required)
- ​Paper A: Odia Language (250 Marks)
- ​Paper B: English Language (250 Marks)

Part II: Papers for Merit (250 Marks each)
- ​Paper I: Essay
- ​Paper II (GS-I): Indian Heritage & Culture, Odisha Heritage & Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society.
- ​Paper III (GS-II): Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice, and Inter-State Relations.
- ​Paper IV (GS-III): Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security, and Disaster Management.
- ​**Paper V (GS-IV): Ethics, Integrity, and Aptitude.
- ​Paper VI & VII: Optional Subject (Paper 1 & Paper 2).

​3. Personality Test (Interview)
- ​Marks: 250
- ​The interview assesses your leadership, intellectual integrity, and suitability for a career in public service.
